City Bicycle and Pedestrian Paths
The City of Whitefish has an impressive network of well maintained bicycle and pedestrian facilities. These facilities link key destinations inside and outside of town and are safe, convenient, and comfortable for both recreation and active transportation.

Connect Whitefish

Snow Removal on City Paths
As per City ordinance, it is the responsibility of the owner and tenant of any premises to keep sidewalks and shared use paths in front of and abutting or adjoining their property reasonably free and clear of all snow, ice, and slush, and clean and safe for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. City staff assist in the removal of snow on shared use paths when accumulations are 1".
The Whitefish Trail
The City of Whitefish works in partnership with Whitefish Legacy Partners to manage the Whitefish Trail. The Whitefish Trail consists of 15 trailheads and 47 miles of natural surface trail comprised of single-track trails, stacked loops, scenic overlooks, and gated logging roads.
Organized Use on the Whitefish Trail

Whitefish Trail Learning Pavilion
Located just a half mile from the Lion Mountain Trailhead, this pavilion offers a base for environmental educational programs for the community and opportunities for people to engage with their natural surroundings. The pavilion offers 900 square feet of coverage with 10 picnic tables and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access. River Access Information
The Whitefish River can be accessed from City Beach, Skye Park, Kusumoto Park, Roundhouse Landing, Kay Beller Park, Riverside Park, Baker Park, and Wartnow Landing. Parking is available at City Beach, Kay Beller Park, Riverside Park, and Baker Park. River access from Skye Park, Kusumoto Park, Roundhouse Landing, and Wartnow Landing is by way of the pedestrian and bicycle trails.
