Armory Rd. Reconstruction
Partnered with Morrison Maierle reconstruction efforts of Armory Road begin with pre-construction meetings Falls of 2024
E. 6th Street Reconstruction
Since the reconstruction of Muldown Elementary and the subsequent increase of traffic the City has deemed a redesign of 6th St. a priority.
- ~1,780 ft of roadway reconstruction
- Path construction along 6th. and along Pine
- Sidewalk upgrades along Pine from E. 5th to E. 7th

Monegan Road Paving
The Monegan Road Paving Project is split into two phases.
- Phase 1 - From Parks building north to Voerman Road was completed in 2019
- Phase 2 - From Parks building south to JP Road

Baker Viaduct Improvement
The Viaduct Improvement project was described in the Downtown Master Plan.
- Phase 1 - Involves moving Concrete jersey barriers and concrete curb. To provide a wider shared-use path on each side. Planned to begin 2025

South Water Tank
City’s potable water system requires additional storage to function properly along HWY 93 South and beyond. As well as a Cast Iron main replacement.
- AE2S is working on completing a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) to be approved by Council.

Safe Streets for All
The city received $160,000 in federal funding to complete a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Action Plan. The plan is intended to improve roadway safety by significantly reducing or eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries. The plan will focus on all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation users, motorists, micro mobility users, and commercial vehicle operators. The City of Whitefish has selected RPA as the professional engineering firm to provide services
Whitefish Rail Corridor Study
The City of Whitefish is conducting a rail corridor study focused on key rail crossings within the community. The study will emphasize four primary crossings:
- State Park Road
- Birch Point Drive
- Baker Avenue (Viaduct)
- East Second Street
The goal is to identify barriers to emergency services and wildfire evacuation, as well as mobility and access limitations these rail crossings may pose to businesses, housing, education, and recreational areas. This project is funded through a Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) grant and managed by the Whitefish Public Works Department.
