The Viaduct has been long identified as a critical link to tie the north side of Whitefish to the downtown area. The Viaduct Improvement Project is highlighted in the 2015 Downtown Business District Master Plan as well as the 2017 Connect Whitefish Bike & Pedestrian Master Plan to accomplish this goal.
The project will involve widening of the bike/ped lanes on either side of the viaduct, decorative lighting on the approaches to the viaduct, gateway landscaping, and removal of the southbound “slip lane” at Railway Street.
The City has contracted with Razz Construction to perform the work, which will take place in May and June of 2025.
