Important Notice:

The boat ramp extension project is complete and the ramp is now accessible. The gate is locked and watercraft users can access the ramp with a code after passing the online AIS Self-Certification Program test.   

Boat Launch

A public boat dock is available with a launching fee. All boats must pay a daily launch fee of $10 or a season pass for $50. The launch is staffed May 1st - September 30th. Outside of these dates, an off-season certificate must be obtained. Follow the Aquatic Invasive Species Self-Certification link to the left. Once complete, the certificate will contain the gate code for City Beach and State Park lake access. 

A Commercial Use Permit is required to launch commercial watercraft at the City Beach Boat Launch. The permit period opens at 8:00 a.m. on March 2, 2026 and permits are filled on a first come, first served basis. Open Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Weather permitting). Conveniently located at City Beach, Whitefish Outfitters and Tours offers paddleboard, kayak, crystal clear kayaks, and river float tubes rentals, as well as paddleboard instruction and tours. Food options will include grab and go and sandwiches, hot dogs, burritos, and the the basic "snack" foods including candy, soda, and chips.
